2018 In Review – Pictures – #4

Golf in February is always a treat for anyone from Ontario (or most of Canada for that matter).  A business trip to Victoria, BC meant tacking on a couple extra days for golf and my arrival date was sunny and pleasant; perfect for experiencing the newer of the two courses at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort.  The Valley course was under construction during my last visit.  However, this photo is the highly acclaimed par 3 14th on the Mountain Course which overlooks the city.  The course was quiet and I was allowed to tour the Mountain course upon completion of my round on the Valley course.

Bear Mountain
The wind was howling and would have made this short par 3 much more intimidating.

Having experienced it now, the Valley course is my favourite of the two.  I’ll share more before the end of the year on this but for now, here’s a picture of me on the Valley course.

Valley Selfie
Wearing the hat backwards having almost lost it twice due to gusty winds.  Love the way many of these holes are framed on the Valley course.

Mildly addicted to the game of golf. Fiercely loyal. A planner, a dreamer, reflective and a proud and passionate Canadian. A father. A fiancé. A tree planter. A Trent graduate. A dog owner. Falling in love with my putter after many failed relationships. A scratch golfer stuck in a 10 handicap body. Love, love, love golf value. Fade on a good day. One ace (and seeking a second). A golf writer/blogger focused on public golf in Canada. Chipping away at my own Bucket List of Canadian golf courses.
