2020 In Pictures – Day 5

My favourite image of the year was captures the commitment and care which Hidden Lake course Superintendent Steve Sibbald brings to his work.

The image was taken hastily and without much consideration, really the total opposite of the work Steve and his team have done at Hidden Lake in 2020. There is nothing that has been hasty, and while some things have not been able to get done these decisions were made after much consideration. After all, in times of a global pandemic and with limited staff capacity some tough decisions have to be made. I am grateful for Steve’s time this summer in letting me shadow him for a day and invite people to review my feature piece on golf course superintendent’s here. It closes out 2020 as my picture of the year.

Mildly addicted to the game of golf. Fiercely loyal. A planner, a dreamer, reflective and a proud and passionate Canadian. A father. A fiancé. A tree planter. A Trent graduate. A dog owner. Falling in love with my putter after many failed relationships. A scratch golfer stuck in a 10 handicap body. Love, love, love golf value. Fade on a good day. One ace (and seeking a second). A golf writer/blogger focused on public golf in Canada. Chipping away at my own Bucket List of Canadian golf courses.
