Postcards from PEI – Day 1

Safely arrived. I love this place.

The dictionary of Newfoundland English identifies ‘Scoff’ as a meal or food but is often associated with a feast.

Well, landing safe in PEI and set up in our guest home at The Gables, and following a most important trip to Carr’s Wharfside Market in Stanley Bridge, PE, we are prepping 15 pounds of seafood, chowder, potato salad and rolls.  And yes, there are four of us.  It’s a scoff, alright.

First tee time tomorrow is 8:30 at Brudenell River and the alarm will go off early.  A visit to see Mark McLane at Golf PEI was enjoyable; it’s nice to meet with Mark again.

Can’t thank my friends enough for their generous gift for my help in organizing this week, a Foot Joy wind jacket from Grand Niagara.  It will get well used this week.  Take you pick – golf, friendship, great food – this week will have it all.

Carr's. Safe to say this won't be our last visit.
