Amazing what a little sunshine can do for a golfers spirit. Today was a morning 18 at Dundarave and an afternoon 18 at Stanhope. The contrast of these courses intersected with stunning vistas at both courses. Stanhope is a much more open course with ample space off the tee. It starts out sublime but it is the back nine where it shows its impressiveness. Dundarave is sensational from opening tee to the closing putt. The conditioning is superb and worthy of its high ranings on Canadian public play course listings.

Stanhope is no slouch. But it is a more relaxed course. It reminds me of Osprey Shores in Guysborough, NS. Great people. Great golf. Amazing views. Playable. It was so much fun!

In closing, over four rounds we’ve encountered two foxes, one crow (Rusty, who we suspect has nut allergies since he dropped our bag of almonds after taking it from our cart), chipmunks. red squirrels, and countless birds (seagulls, geese, ducks, a crane). Capped the day at New Glasgow Lobster Supper…a great end to a great day.
