Postcards from PEI – Day 4

So, we’re at the halfway house of this trip.  Today was a relaxed and very enjoyable 18 at Mill River.  This course hosted the Big Break PEI and is a must play for anyone coming to PEI to play golf.  The consensus from the group is that this is the strongest front 9 we’ve played so far.  Hole after hole is nothing but strong, challenging and stunning golf holes.

The uniqueness of golf on this Island, and within the government owned courses (which Mill River is one, along with Crowbush Cove, Dundarave and Brudenell River) is fantastic.  Today was a tree lined design which had playing partners state the course was reminiscent of the Carolinas or Muskoka in Ontario.

For a golf trip, we nailed it.  After two days of 36 holes we relaxed and enjoyed 18 today.  It allowed some time to stock up on supplies, enjoy the amenities of our rental house (a hot tub with a killer view) and some laughs and memories of great golf.

The people at Mill River provided 5-star service, which is not inconsistent with the hospitality of the Island.  Here are some pictures of the round, which don’t do justice.

Tomorrow, back to 36 holes (I love that!).  For now, a steak dinner and a couple beers while we share stories and some laughs about a great day and golf trip.
