Seven rounds now in the books and today was two local (for us) courses. We started at Eagles Glenn and were consistently impressed. One playing partner stated it was one of his favourites. Yet another spectacular course to enjoy. Spread out over 300 acres, it featured the best greens we’ve played on to date. Set in Cavendish, it is close to many vacation amenities. The afternoon had us travel eight minutes to Glasgow Hills and for the first time within our group we had some diverging opinion. A solid play – let me be clear – it offered significant wow factor on a bright and clear day and a strong opening nine. The opinions on the back nine differed. And to me that is the fun around a ranking list, the pure and complete subjectivity to it all. Being a couple minutes away after the round we made an encore trip back to New Glasgow Lobster Supper. All in all, another spectacular day golfing in PEI.
On a postscript, my game is stuck in a mediocre place. I’ve become a bogey factory. The claw putting grip is working well; rolling the ball much better. Lots of good putts not going in. But the seafood still tastes good and with good friends, it’s been a great day on a great trip.
